I dreamed I was moving. I moved into a big home, with other women, on a college campus. Some of us were in college, but not all of us. As I moved, I collected all my things pretty quickly and lots of it needed organizing and cleaning. There was a community kitchen, laundry area, and living room, but my kitties and me had our own bedroom with a kitchenette. There were 6 rooms total like that, 3 on one side of the house and 3 on the other, connected by a long hall. I was in the first room to the left side, (right side if you were looking at the house from the front). The person who seemed to run the house was actually a YouTuber I watch IRL. She seemed to run a tight ship insisting we are respectful to each other and take care of the place. I liked that. For example, when I came out to change my laundry and do another load of dishes, someone had folded my laundry and gently placed my dishes out before using the machines. I followed suit with folding their clothes and gently setting their dishes out. I really liked that. I was having to do lots of laundry and dishes. It was interesting to see all I was washing, some of the things I hadn’t seen in years. I was excited to get my living space set up that I was sharing with my kitties. I was happy we had a good place to live. I was living back on my college campus. There were a couple of girls from college, from my sorority. (They weren’t in my sorority IRL though). And one girl was teaching children, similar to how I did when I worked with VIPKid, so I could relate to her. I visited one room at the end of my side of the hall. I was so tired and out of it, dozing off and then waking to work on things. Quite a few people were there. I vaguely remembered a guy stopping by for a moment. The woman who lived in the room spoke to me after he left. She almost seemed suspicious of me, like women get if they’re a little jealous. (IRL I don’t experience that now that I’ve gained weight, but I used to when I was thin.) I explained I barely noticed he was there, and that I have chronic health conditions that have severely limited my energy, so I doze off a bunch. I explained I was working on my health conditions, hoping to feel better soon. She seemed compassionate about that. Even though it was odd how she acted, it wasn’t big and I felt it would be ok. Later another odd thing happened though. As I was working on my laundry and dishes, a woman from my sorority (not IRL) approached me. She was friendly but then said; “once you said Amber (a girl in our sorority in the dream) was from Texas by way of Jenny.” I said; “oh I did, I don’t remember that. I don’t even remember where she’s from.” She said I heard you say that but it’s not true. She seemed like she was accusing me of being bad. I asked questioningly; “YOU heard me say that?” You could tell she didn’t actually hear me say it, and that she’d just heard it, kind of like gossip. But still, even if it were true, I didn’t understand why it would be so bad. I asked her about that. I said I didn’t remember ever knowing or saying that, but I imagined lots of people in the sorority and everywhere mix up where people were from. She said, “no they never have once. Only this one time when you did it.” Then it dawned on me that this was an issue in college (though again not IRL. In IRL nothing like this ever happened). But only in this dream, I remembered that a few of my sorority sisters had been super judgmental of me, and I felt they were upset or didn’t like me. It brought on so much low self esteem type of shame, like where you just feel bad and low and don’t know why. I realized this was why they treated me like that. Then I realized it was a girl who was upset she didn’t make cheerleader the same year I did who had spread the gossip. She was upset with me and wanted to turn people against me. I never understood back then. (Again not IRL, only the dream). My college life in the dream had been wonderful, but there was that tiny aspect with a few girls I never understood. In the dream, I realized that in college I had chronic health conditions and couldn’t visit with people, so they didn’t have a chance to get to know me. (IRL the health conditions came after college). I thought that’s probably why that kind of gossip was able to take hold. Still it seemed such a minor thing even if it had been true. Nonetheless I looked forward to feeling better and letting people see and get to know me. Along with recovering from chronic health conditions, I’d now healed a bunch from bad trauma and felt I could be more myself with others. I was excited for people to get to know the real me. And despite the couple of odd things that had happened, which were distressing and I didn’t want to ever happen again, I felt excited to be there and live in this home with my sweet kitty cats.
